NEW CONSTRUCTION

FortisBC New Home Program

Any building permits issued from Jan 1, 2024 onward can qualify for rebates from FortisBC's New Home Program of up to $20,800 for for building your home to Step Code levels. 

  • Step 4 Performance Rebate of $15,000
  • Step 5 Performance Rebate of $20,000
  • Energy Advisor Support Rebate of $800


Receive additional rebates for utilizing additional services:

  • Integrated Design Process (IDP) rebate of $1000
  • Mid-Construction Assessment rebate of $500

Local Municipality Rebates

City Of Kelowna:

  • For a limited time, the City is offering a $325 building permit rebate for Part 9 buildings (maximum 3 per builder) for those builders who complete a mid-construction airtightness test.  


District of Lake Country:

  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Step 3 of the BC Energy Step Code  $500.00 
  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code $1,000.00 
  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code $1,500.00


City of Penticton:

  • Any dwelling which achieves a minimum of Step 3, of the Step Code at time of Occupancy, will receive a 5% building permit fee rebate.


District of Summerland:

  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Mid-Construction Blower Door Test Rebate of $400
  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Step 3 of the BC Energy Step Code - 5% rebate
  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code - 10% rebate
  • Building Permit Fee Rebate: Step 5 of the BC Energy Step Code - 20% rebate

GST/HST New Housing Rebate

The GST/HST new housing rebate allows an individual to recover some of the goods and services tax (GST). Additionally, other provincial new housing rebates may be available for the provincial part of the HST whether the GST/HST new housing rebate for the federal part of the HST is available or not.

CleanBC Better Homes - Up to $15,000

CleanBC Better Homes is an online hub for people to access information, rebates and support to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in new and existing homes and buildings.

  • Utilize their Rebate Search Tool to find available rebates, municipal top-ups and learn about bonus offers.
  • Understand how multiple rebates can work together to increase energy efficiency of your home.
  • For quick reference, utilize their Better Homes BC Rebate Chart for a summary of all rebates currently available through the CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Programs.

Canada Greener Homes Grant - Up to $5,600

*IMPORTANT NOTICE - Currently the grant program has been closed to new registrations; however, we are happy to accommodate all existing registrants as well as all future iterations of the program.


The Canada Greener Homes Grant, provided by the Government of Canada, will help homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient, create new jobs across Canada for energy advisors, grow our domestic green supply chains, and fight climate change.  Access up to $5,600 under the initiative to undertake an EnerGuide evaluation and energy efficiency retrofits. 

Canada Greener Homes Interest Free Loan - Up to $40,000

The Canada Greener Homes Loan, provided by the Government of Canada, offers interest-free financing to help Canadians make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable. The loan can help you finance eligible retrofits that are recommended by an energy advisor and that have not yet been started.

Secondary Suite Incentive Program - Up to $40,000

The Secondary Suite Incentive Program (SSIP) will provide money to help homeowners create a new secondary suite on their property to be rented out for below market value. Homeowners who qualify will receive up to 50% of the cost of renovations, up to a maximum of $40,000. The program will provide a rebate in the form of a forgivable loan—a loan that does not need to be repaid if the homeowner follows the terms of the program.

BC Hydro Solar Rebate - Up to $10,000

The BCHydro Solar Rebate offers rebates for solar panels and battery storage. Homeowners in British Columbia who install rooftop solar panels can apply for up to $10,000 in rebates! The program offers up to $5,000 toward solar photovoltaic panels and up to $5,000 toward a battery-storage system.
