Energy Modeler

Egnite Sustainability is growing, and we want you to join our mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy efficiency! We’re looking for an Energy Modeler who is motivated to grow their skills and become a Consulting Energy Advisor (CEA). If you enjoy working with an impactful and progressive company who values their employees, this would be a great fit for you!

Some questions to ask yourself:

  • Do you have experience in new home construction / renovation or home inspection? (Required)
  • Are you looking for a full-time entry level position with career potential?
  • Are you coachable and motivated to learn and advance?
  • Do you enjoying working in a collaborative work environment?
  • Are you capable of accurately estimating and meeting deadlines?
  • Are you adaptable, approachable, and solution oriented?
  • Do you have great verbal and written communication skills?
  • Are you looking for a long-term career with room for growth and advancement?
  • Are you proficient with computers?

As an Energy Modeler your role is to gather, input, and measure building specifications using the energy simulation software Hot2000, Bluebeam, Sketchup and Microsoft Office Suite. You will shadow and assist the Consulting Energy Advisor (CEA) with on-site testing services for new construction and existing homes as they comply projects to the EnerGuide Rating System and BC Energy Step Code. Your work as an Energy Modeler is essential for the CEA to provide consulting services in home energy efficiency and building science principals. You work closely with the CEA as they work closely with homeowners, renovators, and builders. This is a great opportunity to utilize your knowledge of building codes and standards as well as the performance of a variety of different building materials and methods.

It would most beneficial if you have some of the following:

  • Diploma in technology
  • A minimum of two years’ experience within residential construction and renovation industries
  • Previous experience of auditing construction plans
  • Experience with Hot2000, Bluebeam, Sketchup and Microsoft Office Suite

If you don’t quite check all the boxes, we still encourage you to reach out and inquire further regarding your eligibility. At Egnite we offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications, and we would be excited to speak with you!
